The Constitutional Court of the TRNC has participated in the Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of the Turkic World (TÜRK-AY) as an observer member, following the signing of a declaration in Baku.

President of the Constitutional Court Bertan Özerdağ and Constitutional Court member Peri Hakkı attended the events organized by the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the adoption of its Constitution.

President Bertan Özerdağ delivered a speech during the conference and also took part in the TÜRK-AY Turkic Constitutional Courts meeting held after the conference.

The TRNC Constitutional Court’s application for observer member status, which was on the conference agenda, was accepted and included in the Baku Declaration signed by member states, and the TRNC Constitutional Court was granted observer member status.
