A delegation from the Union of Mediators of the Turkic World paid a visit to Supreme Court President Bertan Özerdağ.
The meeting, held in the High Administrative Court Hall, was attended by the President of the Turkish Cypriot Bar Association, Hasan Esendağlı, as well as the President of the Union of Mediators of the Turkic World, Yakup Erikel, and the Union's representatives from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
During the visit, where views were exchanged on legal cooperation and developments in the field of mediation, Bar Association President Esendağlı took the floor first. He introduced President of the Supreme Court Bertan Özerdağ to the delegation members, who were visiting the TRNC for the first time, and provided information about the judicial system of the TRNC.
President of the Supreme Court Bertan Özerdağ expressed his pleasure at hosting the Union of Mediators of the Turkic World and noted that the Organisation of Turkic States maintains close contact with many institutions of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, emphasising the importance of such communication and solidarity.
Stating that he had also been informed about the Union's activities, Bertan Özerdağ said: “As legal professionals working in the field of law, we observe that alternative dispute resolution methods are an integral part of the legal system and are applied worldwide as an important component of judicial processes.”
