Born in Nicosia on 24/05/1974, Bertan Özerdağ graduated from Lefkoşa Türk Maarif Koleji in 1992 and from Marmara University, Faculty of Law in 1996. He obtained his masters degree on European Union and International Commercial Law from Essex University in England subsequent to his studies between 1998-1999.
Completing his internship on 05/10/2000, he started practicing as a lawyer. He pursued his occupation as a lawyer from 2000 till 2006. He was appointed a District Court Judge on 01/06/2006 and a Senior District Court Judge on 01/10/2010 and later on a President to District Court on 16/09/2014 and lastly a Supreme Court Judge on 16/11/2015.
